Job Description

Highly reviewed dental practice in the Glendale area of Los Angeles is looking to add a hard working Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to our team.  The right person for this position should have an easy going attitude to go along with a good work ethic and organization skills.

 

Days of operations are Monday to Thursday 

 

This is a full-time position with 32 hours per week.

 

 For your hard work and dedication, we offer:

Dental Assistant (DA) duties include but not limited to:

  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and tray setups for dental procedures

  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment

  • Expose, develop, and mount dental radiograph

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures

  • Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines

  • Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient

  • Provide post-operative instructions prescribed and directed by the doctor in charge

  • Record treatment information in patient records

  • Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service


Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) duties include but not limited to:

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures

  • Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)

  • Asking about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse

  • Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment

  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment

  • Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)

  • Teaching our patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)

  • Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth)

  • Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer

  • Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)

  • Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery.
